Based in Geelong, Victoria, the company specializes in developing, managing, and operating distinctive food and beverage venues that combine quality dining experiences with strong community engagement.
We are currently seeking a qualified and experienced Baker to join our kitchen team on a full-time basis.
Salary : $75000-$80000AUD
Location : Federal Mills: Tenancy W4 33 Mackey St, North Geelong, VIC 3215
- Prepare, mix, shape, and bake a variety of bread and bakery products such as loaves, rolls, buns, pastries, and specialty baked goods according to established recipes and production standards.
- Ensure all baked products consistently meet required standards for quality, texture, appearance, and portion control.
- Follow production schedules and daily prep lists to ensure timely output for service periods, wholesale supply, or retail demand.
- Assist in developing and refining baked goods and recipes, including testing new products and incorporating seasonal or ingredient-based variations where appropriate.
- Prepare doughs, batters, fillings, and finishing elements, ensuring accuracy in measurements, proofing, baking times, and finishing techniques.
- Maintain compliance with food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety standards, including allergen control and HACCP-based practices.
- Monitor bakery stock levels, assist with ingredient ordering, and ensure proper storage, labelling, rotation (FIFO), and temperature control to reduce waste and maintain quality.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of baking areas, including ovens, mixers, proofers, and preparation surfaces, ensuring equipment is used safely and correctly.
- Work collaboratively with kitchen and production teams to ensure efficient workflow, consistent output, and smooth service during peak production periods.
Skills & Experience Required
- Relevant experience is required for this role
- Proven ability to prepare a wide range of baked goods with consistency, including mixing, shaping, baking, and finishing products to a high standard.
- Strong understanding of food safety, hygiene standards, allergen management, and safe food handling practices (HACCP knowledge preferred).
- Excellent time management and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet production and service deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality, consistent, and visually appealing baked products.
- Good communication skills, teamwork ability, and a reliable, professional work ethic.
