About This Role
·Studying plans and specifications to determine required materials, dimensions, and installation methods
·Erecting and dismantling restricted height scaffolding in accordance with safety standards
·Sealing foundations with damp-resistant materials and applying mortar as a base and bonding layer
·Laying bricks in rows, patterns, and shapes, and applying mortar between joints
·Embedding bricks and blocks in mortar and removing excess material
·Checking and maintaining vertical and horizontal alignment of structures
·Cutting, shaping, and finishing bricks and stones using hand tools and machinery
·Shaping materials to fit irregular spaces and detailed designs
·Repairing and maintaining brickwork, blockwork, and related structures
·Designing, cutting, and installing monumental masonry and lettering
·Constructing walls using stone slabs and large masonry blocks
·Cutting, polishing, joining, and installing stone kitchen benchtops
·Preparing base and bedding layers and laying segmental paving
Qualifications & Experience:
·Certificate III in Bricklaying/Blocklaying or a related qualification
·At least one year of relevant hands-on experience in bricklaying
·Strong knowledge of masonry techniques, materials, and tools
·Ability to read and interpret construction plans and drawings
·Understanding of workplace health and safety (WHS) requirements
