We are looking for a full-time Carpenter to join our team. In this role, you will be primarily responsible for performing skilled carpentry duties in line with project requirements. This role provides the opportunity to work on some of the most prestigious architectural projects, ensuring efficiency, quality, and strict adherence to workplace health and safety. This position is a full-time ongoing position, based in Melbourne.
Main Tasks:
-Read and understand architectural and structural drawings
-Ensure sites remain clean, safe and incident free
-Take off for materials and fixings
-Place orders for materials and fixings either directly or through the Project/Site manager
-Quality control of own carpentry work
-Set out and construction of structural framing
-Set out and installation of claddings
-Installation of windows
-Fixing of architraves, skirtings, beads and trims
-Own and maintain hand tools (chisels, hand saws, clamps, hammers, tin snips, pliers, pinchers, tape measures, screw drivers, squares, knifes, levels, nail punches, bevels, hand planes)
-Own and maintain power tools (drills, drivers, circular saws, drop saw, jigsaw, reciprocating saws, planners, grinders, sanders, lasers, framing gun, fixing gun, routers, trimmers, multitools)
Required/Relevant Qualifications & Work Experience:
-Certificate III in Carpentry, and
-A minimum of 1 year of full time work experience in the industry; OR 3 years’ work experience in the industry to substitute the formal qualification.
Required/Relevant Skills & Knowledge:
-Comprehensive knowledge of carpentry techniques and best practices.
-Proficiency in using a variety of hand and power tools.
-Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
-Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
Annual salary will be between $76,000.00 to $85,000.00 (plus superannuation) depending on level of experience.
