Salt & Pepper Grill, located in Kensington, WA, is seeking a full-time Chef who is enthusiastic, passionate about food, and eager to learn and develop new skills. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to grow within a dynamic and supportive kitchen environment.

Responsibilities and Duties will include, but not limited to:

  1. Managing menu, planning and executing high-quality dishes for both restaurant service and catering orders
  2. Preparing and coordinating bulk food production while maintaining consistency and efficiency
  3. Monitoring stock levels, placing orders, and implementing effective stock control to minimise food wastage
  4. Ensuring all dishes meet exceptional standards of taste, presentation, and consistency
  5. Overseeing daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, workflow, and staff supervision
  6. Developing and refining menus using fresh, high-quality ingredients, with a focus on creativity and flavour
  7. Maintaining strict food safety and hygiene standards in line with regulations
  8. Leading, mentoring, and supporting kitchen staff to foster a positive and productive team environment
  9. Ensuring all dishes are properly presented and garnished before service
  10. Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe kitchen environment at all times
  11. Keeping up to date with current cooking techniques, trends, and industry best practices
  12. Adhering to all workplace health and safety procedures


To be successful in this role, you will have:

  1. A nationally recognised trade qualification, with a minimum Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery (Diploma or Advanced Diploma highly regarded)
  2. Minimum of one year proven experience working in a fast-paced Australian restaurant environment, both independently and as part of a team
  3. A current, unrestricted Australian driver’s licence
  4. The ability to obtain and maintain a valid Australian National Police Clearance
