Salt & Pepper Grill, located in Kensington, WA, is seeking a full-time Chef who is enthusiastic, passionate about food, and eager to learn and develop new skills. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to grow within a dynamic and supportive kitchen environment.
Responsibilities and Duties will include, but not limited to:
- Managing menu, planning and executing high-quality dishes for both restaurant service and catering orders
- Preparing and coordinating bulk food production while maintaining consistency and efficiency
- Monitoring stock levels, placing orders, and implementing effective stock control to minimise food wastage
- Ensuring all dishes meet exceptional standards of taste, presentation, and consistency
- Overseeing daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, workflow, and staff supervision
- Developing and refining menus using fresh, high-quality ingredients, with a focus on creativity and flavour
- Maintaining strict food safety and hygiene standards in line with regulations
- Leading, mentoring, and supporting kitchen staff to foster a positive and productive team environment
- Ensuring all dishes are properly presented and garnished before service
- Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe kitchen environment at all times
- Keeping up to date with current cooking techniques, trends, and industry best practices
- Adhering to all workplace health and safety procedures
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A nationally recognised trade qualification, with a minimum Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery (Diploma or Advanced Diploma highly regarded)
- Minimum of one year proven experience working in a fast-paced Australian restaurant environment, both independently and as part of a team
- A current, unrestricted Australian driver’s licence
- The ability to obtain and maintain a valid Australian National Police Clearance
