The Opportunity

We are currently looking for a Commercial and Customer Lead to join the Commercial Team at our Perth Airport based office.

The Role

Key duties and responsibilities of the role are: 

Commercial Customer Management:

      • Provide management, support and direction to the Customer Account Principal in liaising with internal stakeholders for contract variations and issues for day-to-day business on rail access; to proactively manage issues, concerns, and disputes effectively, build trust and respect, and anticipate and respond to stakeholder needs
      • Responsible for ensuring the negotiation strategy for commercial agreements, including variations, extensions and correspondence aligns with Arc’s strategic commercial objectives whilst ensuring adherence to contractual and regulatory compliance and with Arc’s obligations and rights
      • Leading the development and implementation of customer engagement strategies including the approach to business improvement and expansion projects, regular commercial and supply chain meetings and network performance packs. The Commercial and Customer Lead acts as the voice of the customer, communicating customer issues to the business, and coordinating with other business units to drive positive outcomes. The Commercial and Customer Lead is also responsible for determining the messaging to customers on all Arc matters (except incidents and emergencies)
      • Ensure any operational event affecting rail access is resolved with customers in a commercial manner
      • Maximise commercial outcomes through development of commercial pricing approaches and principles

Analytics:

      • Accountable for developing key metrics including revenue budgeting and forecasting, commercial related audit and assurance reporting, and commercial performance reporting, to ensure the achievement of strategic goals
      • Accountable for the analysis and reporting on network performance relevant to each customer for internal and external purposes
      • Accountable for the development of financial models that assess commercial opportunities and consider externalities such as competition from existing and emerging alternatives that could impact pricing strategies
      • To lead the business in optimising the safe and efficient use of its assets and streamlining processes to facilitate improved revenue and customer outcomes whilst balancing service level and asset quality
      • Responsible for the provision of quantitative analysis for existing commercial agreements for internal stakeholders and ensuring Arc’s systems and processes enable this analysis to occur efficiently
      • Provide support to the Business Development team with the identification of projects for investment in rail infrastructure, such as market, supply and demand, customer and pricing analysis
    • Provide leadership, direction and advice to team members, monitoring performance and ensuring they receive the training, development and support required to effectively perform their duties
    • Work closely with the Commercial and Contracts team to facilitate effective and efficient contract drafting, ensuring risks and opportunities are fully understood for all Commercial agreements
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
