About the Role
We are seeking a motivated Electrical Engineer to join our Automation team. Reporting to the Operations and Project Director, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and supporting electrical systems for automation equipment and projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop electrical schematics, panel layouts, and wiring diagrams using CAD software such as AutoCAD Electrical
- Design electrical control systems for automation and materials handling equipment
- Specify and select electrical components including PLCs, HMIs, sensors, drives, and control panels
- Ensure designs comply with relevant electrical codes, safety standards, and industry regulations
- Prepare technical documentation including bills of materials, cable schedules, and test procedures
- Troubleshoot electrical and control system issues during installation, commissioning, and operation
- Collaborate with automation, controls, and software engineering teams
- Provide engineering support to maintenance and service teams
- Comply with workplace health and safety and quality procedures
Skills and Experience
Essential
- Tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- 2 to 5 years of experience in an electrical engineering or automation environment
- Experience working with PLC-based automation systems
- Experience using AutoCAD Electrical or similar design software
- Understanding of electrical standards and safety regulations
Desirable
- Experience troubleshooting electrical and automation systems in industrial environments
- Experience working in multidisciplinary engineering teams
