Fitter and Turner

The Role

Silverise require the services of a Fitter and Turner who is a skilled tradesperson responsible for assembling, installing and maintaining mechanical systems by fitting and machining precision components.

Key responsibilities

1. Diagnose faults and perform operational maintenance of machines
2. Ensure accuracy and functionality of assembled components
3. Read drawings and specifications to determine suitable materials, sequence of operations, and machine settings
4. Set up prescribed cutting and shape tools in machines and equipment
5. Check assembled metal parts for accuracy and fit using measuring equipment
6. Setup guides, stops, and other controls on numerous machining tools

Qualifications

1. Relevant or similar trade qualifications, or a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role (preferred)
2. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as effectively within a team
3. Proven experience in assembling, fitting, and installing mechanical components (highly regarded)
4. Competent in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications
5. Proficient in operating a variety of machining tools and equipment
6. Committed to maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to all safety protocols

Salary: $75,000 - $95,000 per annum
