Full-time Diesel Motor Mechanic

We are currently seeking a full-time Diesel Motor Mechanic to join our team at Premier Metal Recyclers in Maddington WA. The position is full time. For a successful candidate an annual salary of $75k to $80k + superannuation will be offered.

Responsibilities:

1. Performing vehicle assessments and diagnostic tests to determine vehicle functionality and issues.
2. Identifying, diagnosing, and repairing issues with the motor engines or mechanical/electrical parts.
3. Utilise diagnostic tools and equipment, including computerized diagnostic systems and manual tools, to pinpoint and repair vehicle malfunctions.
4. Disassembling motor components to perform proper inspections and repairs on the vehicle.
5. Conducting routine maintenance work (replacing fluids, oil changes, lubricating parts etc.) aiming to improve vehicle functionality and longevity.
6. Replacing worn or damaged parts such as belts, hoses, and spark plugs.
7. Diagnosing and repairing heating and air conditioning systems.
8. Inspecting and repairing suspension and steering systems.
9. Troubleshooting and repairing fuel systems.
10. Assembling new motor components according to specification or manual.
11. Reassembling motor components after inspection/maintenances are completed.
12. Road testing vehicles to diagnose problems and ensure repairs have been completed successfully.
13. Perform safety inspections to verify that all vehicles comply with the necessary safety regulations.
14. Providing estimates for repair costs and time required to complete repairs.
15. Maintain work logs, repairs, and maintenance records.

Skills and Experience:

1. Minimum 3 years+ of experience
2. Hold relevant qualification
