About the roles

GEO Healthcare Plus provides primary healthcare to men in Prisons across Victoria. 

The Health Services Manager (HSM) is responsible for managing the provision of health services at Ravenhall Correctional Centre including to ensure that the services are delivered in a safe and evidence-based manner.

The role is responsible for coordinating staffing and other resources at Ravenhall Correctional Centre and for meeting Key Performance Measures (KPMs) in accordance with the contract between the Client and GEO Healthcare Plus.

Skills and Experience:

The ideal candidate will have:

Essential:

  • Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency as a Registered Nurse.
  • Post-graduate qualifications related to health or health service management or extensive relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading clinical governance and clinical risk management at the local level.
  • Lead and operationally coordinate the provision of all health services at Ravenhall Correctional Centre to ensure health needs of the patients and contractual requirements are met by all staff.
  • Coordinate local staffing and other onsite health resources, to ensure the efficient use of resources in meeting the health needs of people in prison and achieving key performance measures.
  • Provide advice and support to the prison General Manager regarding the delivery of quality, comprehensive and evidence-based health services to the patient population in accordance with contractual obligations.
  • Coordinate the investigation and management of incidents and complaints and ensure reporting and corrective action requirements comply with GEO Healthcare Plus policy, service specifications and contractual obligations.
  • Participate in meetings with Justice Health and Corrections Victoria and other meetings when requested to attend.
  • Actively promote the development of a culture which supports the GEO Healthcare Plus efforts to maintain and improve its Quality, Safety, Environmental, Risk, Asset and Security Management Systems.
  • Ensure compliance with all Company Policies and Procedures and the Governance, Risk and Compliance Manual and Code of Conduct.

Other Requirements of the role:

  • Valid Australian driver’s licence.
  • Ability to work within a prison setting, which will involve direct contact with people in prison associated with the delivery of healthcare.
  • Satisfactory completion of a National Criminal History Check.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
  • Working outside of ordinary business hours may be required.
