As a full-time Labourer in Horticulture, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our mission. You will work alongside a dedicated team, engaging in hands-on maintenance tasks that contribute to the beauty and sustainability of the environment around you.

Position Overview

Reporting to the Team Leader, you will assist with the maintenance and improvement of Council’s horticultural and coastal assets. Working as part of a collaborative team, you will carry out a range of practical tasks while ensuring work is completed safely and to a high standard.

Key duties include:

• General horticultural and grounds maintenance works
• Operation and routine maintenance of horticultural machinery and equipment
• Safe application of horticultural chemicals
• Assisting with work programs and daily tasks as directed
• Completing risk assessments and complying with WHS policies and procedures

Candidate Profile

You enjoy working outdoors, are safety‑focused, and take pride in contributing to public spaces used by the community. You work well in a team environment and demonstrate a positive and reliable approach to your work.

• NSW WHS General Induction Card (White card) is essential for this role
• Experience: Minimum two years in a similar role is idea as well as strong communication skills.
• Core Attributes: Decision-making skills, goal-oriented, effective communication, and a positive team player.
• Certificate II in Horticulture or related field, chainsaw training and Chemcert qualification would be desirable
