The Role:
We are seeking an experienced Manager to lead our McDonald’s Gundagai restaurant. You will be responsible for managing day-to-day operations, ensuring high standards of food safety and customer service, and mentoring a team to deliver their best. This role requires a hands-on leader who can balance operational excellence with a supportive and engaging team culture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Daily restaurant operations across front-of-house, kitchen, and administrative areas, ensuring consistency, quality, and operational flow.
- Plan menus in consultation with chefs, ensuring variety, quality, and alignment with budget constraints and customer expectations.
- Organize and manage special functions, promotions, and community or corporate events, ensuring smooth execution and alignment with store goals.
- Oversee purchasing, pricing, and inventory control to maintain stock accuracy, cost efficiency, and compliance with budgetary guidelines.
- Maintain accurate records of stock levels, financial transactions, labor costs, and operational expenses.
- Ensure the restaurant and dining areas comply with all health, hygiene, and food safety regulations, maintaining a clean, functional, and visually appealing environment.
- Regularly engage with customers to assess satisfaction, gather feedback, and ensure their overall dining experience is positive and memorable.
- Select, train, supervise, and mentor kitchen and service staff, promoting high standards of service and operational efficiency.
- Develop and implement marketing strategies, local promotions, and customer engagement initiatives to drive sales and strengthen brand visibility.
- Manage staff rosters in line with operational needs, business demands, and labour efficiency requirements.
- Oversee budgeting, cost control, and financial reporting for food, labour, and operational expenses, including reviewing profit and loss statements and taking corrective action where necessary.
- Foster a positive team culture by supporting staff engagement, motivation, and ongoing professional growth.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers, vendors, and contractors to maintain strong working relationships and streamline supply and service operations.
- Lead by example on the floor, upholding high service standards, maintaining operational efficiency, and ensuring every customer feels valued.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Minimum 1 year of relevant experience, with proven capability in supervising or managing teams.
- Diploma in any field, or equivalent experience that demonstrates strong operational and leadership capability.
- Must be fully qualified by McDonald’s Australia, holding a Certificate in SMX or LTS.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach, motivate, and support a diverse team.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work confidently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while maintaining service quality and team morale.
- Trustworthy, reliable, and committed to upholding the standards and values of the restaurant.
- Passionate about hospitality and customer experience, with a genuine desire to create a positive impact.
- Ability to work across a rotating roster, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and peak trading periods.
- Knowledge of financial management, rostering, inventory control, and operational reporting is highly regarded.
- Ability to lead by example, maintaining high standards in hygiene, service, and workplace professionalism.

Job Type: Full Time
Schedule: 8-Hours rotating shifts, as per the roster, and availability is required for various shifts
