The Role:

We are seeking an experienced Manager to lead our McDonald’s Gundagai restaurant. You will be responsible for managing day-to-day operations, ensuring high standards of food safety and customer service, and mentoring a team to deliver their best. This role requires a hands-on leader who can balance operational excellence with a supportive and engaging team culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Daily restaurant operations across front-of-house, kitchen, and administrative areas, ensuring consistency, quality, and operational flow.
  2. Plan menus in consultation with chefs, ensuring variety, quality, and alignment with budget constraints and customer expectations.
  3. Organize and manage special functions, promotions, and community or corporate events, ensuring smooth execution and alignment with store goals.
  4. Oversee purchasing, pricing, and inventory control to maintain stock accuracy, cost efficiency, and compliance with budgetary guidelines.
  5. Maintain accurate records of stock levels, financial transactions, labor costs, and operational expenses.
  6. Ensure the restaurant and dining areas comply with all health, hygiene, and food safety regulations, maintaining a clean, functional, and visually appealing environment.
  7. Regularly engage with customers to assess satisfaction, gather feedback, and ensure their overall dining experience is positive and memorable.
  8. Select, train, supervise, and mentor kitchen and service staff, promoting high standards of service and operational efficiency.
  9. Develop and implement marketing strategies, local promotions, and customer engagement initiatives to drive sales and strengthen brand visibility.
  10. Manage staff rosters in line with operational needs, business demands, and labour efficiency requirements.
  11. Oversee budgeting, cost control, and financial reporting for food, labour, and operational expenses, including reviewing profit and loss statements and taking corrective action where necessary.
  12. Foster a positive team culture by supporting staff engagement, motivation, and ongoing professional growth.
  13. Communicate effectively with suppliers, vendors, and contractors to maintain strong working relationships and streamline supply and service operations.
  14. Lead by example on the floor, upholding high service standards, maintaining operational efficiency, and ensuring every customer feels valued.

Skills & Experience Required:

  1. Minimum 1 year of relevant experience, with proven capability in supervising or managing teams.
  2. Diploma in any field, or equivalent experience that demonstrates strong operational and leadership capability.
  3. Must be fully qualified by McDonald’s Australia, holding a Certificate in SMX or LTS.
  4. Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach, motivate, and support a diverse team.
  5. Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  6. Ability to work confidently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while maintaining service quality and team morale.
  7. Trustworthy, reliable, and committed to upholding the standards and values of the restaurant.
  8. Passionate about hospitality and customer experience, with a genuine desire to create a positive impact.
  9. Ability to work across a rotating roster, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and peak trading periods.
  10. Knowledge of financial management, rostering, inventory control, and operational reporting is highly regarded.
  11. Ability to lead by example, maintaining high standards in hygiene, service, and workplace professionalism.

Job Type: Full Time

Schedule: 8-Hours rotating shifts, as per the roster, and availability is required for various shifts
