Job Overview:
We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Motor Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of vehicle mechanics, diagnostics, and maintenance, with the ability to deliver high-quality service on a variety of vehicles. This role involves comprehensive diagnostic assessments, precise repairs, and routine maintenance to ensure vehicles are running smoothly and safely.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough inspections to identify mechanical and electrical problems in petrol and diesel vehicle engines and other critical components.
- Disassemble engines, transmissions, and other vehicle systems to examine and repair or replace defective parts, as required.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, lubrication, and engine tune-ups to keep vehicles in top condition and in compliance with environmental regulations.
- Accurately reassemble engines and mechanical parts post-repair, ensuring all components are fitted correctly and functioning as intended, referring to service manuals and technical documentation.
- Conduct tests on repaired components and systems to verify that all repairs meet quality standards and that the vehicle performs optimally.
- Utilize advanced diagnostic and scan tools and software to diagnose engine errors using engine codes and assess the condition of vehicle parts and systems.
Qualifications:
- Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology
- Certificate IV in Automotive Mechanical Diagnosis
- 1 years of experience as a Motor Mechanic or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical vehicle systems.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and software.
- Strong knowledge of engine codes.
- Ability to read and interpret service manuals and technical documents.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Valid driver’s license.
Desirable Qualification and Skills:
- Experience with a variety of vehicle makes and models.
- Strong customer service skills.
