Your new company
A Lower North Shore local council is seeking entry level Parking Officers to support parking and traffic enforcement across the local government area. This role is offered through a recruitment agency and provides an opportunity to work outdoors while contributing to community safety and access.
Your new role
As a Parking Officer, you will work in pairs and patrol assigned areas within the council region.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Enforcing time limited parking in business centres
- Monitoring stopping and parking in line with signage and notices
- Enforcing on street parking restrictions in residential parking scheme areas
- Supporting parking and traffic arrangements during special events
- Assisting with school safety initiatives
- Providing information to the public and building positive community relationships
- Accurately recording and gathering information relating to detected offences
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate the following:
- Current Class C driver's licence
- Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks through to completion
- Strong customer service skills and a calm, professional approach
- Confidence in managing difficult situations and de-escalating issues
- Clear and respectful communication with a diverse range of people
- Capability to meet the physical requirements of an outdoor role
- Understanding of WH&S and equal employment principles
- Willingness to obtain and maintain a police check for criminal history
