About the Position:
The Primary Products Assurance and Inspection Officer plays a critical role in maintaining the highest standards of product quality and compliance on the Egg Grading Floor at our Hallam facility. Reporting to the Production Manager and working closely with the Quality team, this position involves inspecting and monitoring key egg grading quality systems and processes, as well as QA/QC certification processes within egg production. You will assist with the identification of production quality and quality control issues across the entire production system and Egg Grading Floor, provide recommendations to the QA Compliance and Quality Manager, and implement management-approved solutions in an efficient and timely manner. The role also requires ensuring the comprehensive completion of all necessary paperwork to meet ongoing regulatory and industry body requirements, assisting with process operator duties, and maintaining an efficient, clean and tidy work environment while following directions from the QA Compliance and Quality Manager or Production Manager. This position is essential to upholding Sunny Queen’s reputation for premium, safe and compliant egg products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect product as per the Company daily schedule to ensure compliance with customer specifications and all relevant standards on the Egg Grading Floor.
- Assist with monitoring the quality assurance system, including procedures, standards and specifications, to consistently meet company quality goals.
- Ensure all quality paperwork is comprehensively completed by delegated staff across all sites and systems, then review and file it appropriately.
- Identify, record, investigate and resolve any problems or non-conformities relating to product, process or the quality system, ensuring thorough root-cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions.
- Assist with the coordination of all internal and external quality audits and the effective management and closure of Corrective Action Requests (CARs).
- Ensure calibration of all relevant inspection and quality equipment is completed according to the Company plan.
- Validate quality processes by monitoring product specifications and quality attributes.
- Assist in resolving quality assurance and control problems, determining system improvements and implementing quality and customer-service standards.
- When required, improve product quality by completing product and system compliance and surveillance audits.
- Support the handling of customer and supplier complaints and queries as needed.
- Attend production and quality meetings and training sessions, actively participating, contributing ideas and endorsing agreed outcomes to improve team skills and competency.
- Maintain a high standard of integrity, honesty and self-motivation while observing all privacy, confidentiality, biosecurity, animal welfare, workplace health and safety, and environmental requirements.
- Contribute to the organisational culture by upholding the Company’s TRICE values, Code of Conduct, and policies on site maintenance, stewardship and continuous improvement.
- Update job knowledge by completing training in quality assurance and participating in educational opportunities.

- Required qualifications: Diploma or equivalent higher qualification, or at least three years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualifications listed above.
- Required experience: Minimum one year of relevant experience.
- Required technical and interpersonal skills: Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of quality assurance/food safety standards and obligations under current National Standards; practical knowledge and experience of Workplace Health and Safety legislation and its application; specific knowledge and experience of the MOBA Egg grading system for quality purposes; strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, problem-solving and organisational skills; excellent communication, teamwork, time management and interpersonal abilities; proactive commitment to continuous improvement and the ability to work effectively and autonomously in a fast-paced production environment.
