Sales Engineer

Our client is an Australian company focused on delivering the best heat exchanger equipment to their customers. Their expertise is in engineering, maintenance, and repair of process equipment for heat transfer and corrosion resistant applications.

About the Role:

The Sales Engineer position is responsible for both sourcing new sales opportunities across all market segments to grow the service the business and to provide the service/products in their portfolio.

Sales Responsibilities of Position:

Establishing contact with existing customers, identifying new opportunities through cold calling & referrals, and following up on potential leads/prospects.

Determine customer needs and propose appropriate product and service solutions including writing of quotations.

Structured & documented calling program to proactively manage your customer base to maximize repeat business and prevent loss of client to competitors.

Stay on top of industry trends to identify potential opportunities for company growth

Represent the company at all relevant Industry Trade Promotional events to accumulate new leads, make productive contact with existing clients and to profile the company and its entire product range.

Monthly meetings with Director/Operations Manager to review weekly sales activities, progress on sales goals, status of prospective customers and monitor your calling program.

Prepare and deliver sales proposals/presentations and follow up with key decision makers. Meet or exceed the new business sales goals whilst achieving set gross margins. Other duties, as assigned by Director/Operations Manager.

Technical Responsibilities of Position:

Sizing and performance modelling of various types of heat exchangers (shell and tube, double pipe, plate, plate and shell, spiral, block, and others) using existing tools.

Checking the mechanical design of equipment for sale by the company including mechanical calculation, computer modelling.

Learning and managing regulatory work for pressure equipment.

Project management for selected contracts.

Mechanical repair work alongside the technicians when needed.
