Your part in our St Stephens team

As part of our Theatre team, you will be responsible for assisting the nursing staff with the safe transfer, repositioning and mobilisation of patients and the setting up of the theatre equipment in preparation for procedures. In addition to this you will:

  • Assist with the transport of patients to and from the ICU, ensuring patient safety during procedures and transfers and support with patient positioning, application of diathermy plate, suction etc.

  • Handle and set up the hospital equipment in preparation for procedures and collect and dispose of all waste as per procedures contained in Waste Management.

  • Follow hospital guidelines in relation to Infection Control

  • Assist nursing team members with various patient procedures and ensure safe manual handling is utilised and the effective use of mechanical lifting aids.

  • Proven ability to work as part of a team, with good communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work with limited supervision.

  • Physical capacity to perform all duties of the position and the ability to work in a manner which preserves patient confidentiality and dignity.

  • Willingness to obtain required vaccinations in line with hospitals infection control requirements, as well as undergo national criminal history check and functional assessment
