About the Role

We are seeking a qualified Urban and Regional Planner to support the strategic planning and development of our infrastructure and service expansion projects. This role is central to our growth, focusing on land-use planning, infrastructure siting, and navigating regulatory approvals while ensuring strict alignment with environmental and community considerations.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Planning & Zoning: Undertake land use and zoning assessments for critical infrastructure, including telecommunications towers, wireless facilities, and network installations.
  2. Applications: Prepare and assess development applications (DAs) and planning proposals in accordance with relevant state legislation and local planning schemes.
  3. Impact Assessment: Conduct environmental, social, and economic impact assessments related to infrastructure deployment.
  4. Strategic Initiatives: Contribute to strategic and regional planning initiatives to support the expansion of digital connectivity and infrastructure networks.
  5. Stakeholder Liaison: Act as a primary point of contact for local councils, government authorities, community groups, and stakeholders regarding project approvals.
  6. Expert Advice: Provide high-level advice on planning regulations, policies, and statutory compliance requirements.
  7. Technical Reporting: Prepare comprehensive technical reports, planning documentation, and formal submissions.
  8. Feasibility: Support site selection and feasibility analysis for nationwide infrastructure rollouts.

About the Candidate

The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented professional with a strong grasp of statutory requirements and a desire to work on diverse infrastructure projects.

Requirements:

  1. A Bachelor’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning or a relevant degree qualification.
  2. 2–3 years of relevant professional experience in a planning or consultancy environment.
  3. Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical reporting and stakeholder negotiation.
  4. Ability to navigate complex planning frameworks across different Australian jurisdictions.
