Welder – Clyde North, VIC

Kogan People Solutions, recruiters, are working with a successful and trusted business involved in the fabrication of high-quality metal products such as structural steel, steel staircases, hand railings, fencing gates, and much more.

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Welder to join their growing team in Clyde North. The role is full-time and ongoing.

Salary – Offered in the range of $75k to $85k plus superannuation per annum.

About you -

You have a passion for the metalworking industry and are up to date on the latest industrial and safety techniques. Your work history shows you demonstrate an unwavering commitment to welding of the highest quality, whilst working within a cohesive and hardworking team environment.

The important duties with which you will be involved: -

1. Interpret technical engineering plans (blueprints and other relevant drawings)
2. Skilfully select, prepare assemble and finish, high quality items.
3. Set and skilfully use MIG, TIG and Stick welds and other types of welds based on project needs.
4. Operate heat and thermal cutting equipment.
5. Operate other relevant machinery in the factory.
6. Assemble and tack components.
7. Ensure all welds meet relevant Australian Standards and internal quality requirements.

To succeed in this role, you:

1. Have at least 1 or more years of trade experience since earning your qualifications working in similar roles.
2. Are suitably qualified (equivalent to a Certificate IV) in a highly relevant field of study.
3. Have great attention to detail, high quality of work and proven experience in the Welding field.
4. Able to skilfully read and interpret blueprints.
5. Work with a high level of safety awareness.
6. Experienced in MIG, TIG and Stick welding.
7. Working knowledge of CNC programming and usage.
8. Offer proven ability to prioritise, set goals and have the determination to achieve them.
9. Enjoy working in and around cohesive teams and follow instructions.
10. Be very safety conscious, comfortable always using PPE.
11. Physically capable of manual handling, lifting, and standing for extended periods.
12. Comfortable working in a workshop environment with heat, noise, and industrial equipment.
